Couples Corner: Were pregnant!!

Rodliz’s Nest

This week's topic on couple's corner is all about the time when we were pregnant.
My pregnancy was the most wonderful experience that I have ever had.
Getting pregnant was a big challenge to me since I was diagnosed with PCOD a few days before my wedding. I knew that I would be having a difficult time conceiving because of my condition. I tried everything that my obgyn asked me to do just to get pregnant. A couple years of fertility treatment, all the test that I need to clear out any other problems, even taking my temperature every morning to know if I am fertile or not.
It was a long and tiring process that sometimes it feels that I am just doing things because I had to and not because I want to. Finally on May 2006 I went home to the Philippines for a knee surgery, Since my family is a devotee of the Lady of Perpetual Help of Manoag ( APO) I went there a couple of days after my surgery with knee brace and all, as I prayed I told Apo that I give up, I am so tired of begging, crying and asking for a baby... I am just so tired, It was the first time that I went there since my wedding that I didnt ask to have a baby. I just asked for peace within me, I asked for acceptance and ask for guidance. I have accepted the fact that I would not get pregnant anymore and my dream of becoming a Mom would never come true. That time I feel at peace with myself for the first time in so many years, I can move on and look at the other side of my life.
After a couple of days I went back here in Saipan to be with my hubby, because of the long and painful process of conceiving a child, I must say it took its toll on our marriage life. There would be times that my hubby and I wont talk for weeks and I must admit at that time I also accepted that fact that my hubby deserves also to have a family of his own and I must admit the fact that it is not with me. I keep on giving him reasons to get mad at me, so it woudl be easier for him to look for another girl and start his life all over again, though it was painful I still would like to give my hubby a chance to be happy as well, I dont want to be selfish.
Around August 2006, every morning as soon as I arrive in our office I always feel as though I am went to a long trip ( the trip from our house to the office is only 10-15 mins.), I feel dizzy and hot. I was thinking I might be sick or something, I keep on tellign my sister in the Philippines that I might be sick and she keeps on telling me that I might be pregnant and she asked me to buy a pregnancy test kit just to check... since I dont want to get my hopes up and later on just be depressed I told my sister that I was not pregnant and if I buy a HPT kist it would just be a waste of money and I wasted a lot already :)
Afte a long time of being convinced by my sister to get a HPT finally on September 19, 2006 as I was doing office errands I drop by the pharmacty to get a test pack and just get it over with. As soon as I arrive in the office I immediately went to the restroom to take the test It was so quick I saw a + sign on the test and it felt like somebody poured a bucket of cold water on me, I could not breathe, I could not move my legs and my body just trembled. For so long I was hoping to see this + sign on every test that I have taken and now unexpectedly I see it.
I immediately called my hubby and told him that I had the test done already since I was still in shock my voice sounded as though I am disappointed and sad, so my hubby immediately told me "That's ok baby, we can always try.... you'll be my baby forever", I was still speachless then he asked me "So, what's the result", I told him positive, he then said "What's wrong with that?"... I told him I just dont know how to react... I am so happy and shocked at the same time. Needless to say we are both over the moon . I must have taken 7 test that day just to make sure I am really really pregnant.
I didnt have vomiting/nausea or anything... I just hated the smell of sauted onion and garlic, I can't stand tomato sauce and vinegar and I dont like to smell any other perfume other than Elizabeth Arden's gree tea :). Over all I had a very easy pregnancy maybe because I dint mind all the discomfort of pregnancy I was just to happy to experience having a life inside of me.
Happy Wednesday Everyone!!

CC: My Best Friend

Rodliz’s Nest

My Hubby is my everything, at times he is my enemy, at times he is my lover, at times he is my mentor, my guide and many other things in between but most of all he is my BESTFRIEND.
He is the first guy that I have ever been friends with, I remeber when we just got to know each other he was helping me how to end my relationship with my boyfriend then, he must have listened to a million of my stories regarding my ex but he still was willing to give his ears to me.
Up until now I still tell him everything, at times with complete details, though my stories are very lenghty he still listens. He know my every move, my every breath and even my slightest sigh he knows it means something. If I dont talk he knows somethign is bothering me or he has done something to make me mad.
Last April 21, 2010 we celebrated our 8th year as boyfriend/girlfriend up unto this day I still remember how it felt like the first time I saw him, the first time we became a couple... still has and will always will feel like.. MAGIC!!!
Like Ate Liz, I feel blessed that I can tell my hubby anything, I have few friends that has told me how hard it is for them to have a great relationship with their husband expecially if they are keeping some secrets from their partner. Most of the time their marriage suffers because of the heavy load they are keeping inside of them. Must be really hard being happy when you know for a fact that everyday, every minute you are hiding something from your partner. I would never dream being in that situation, I am happy because I can be myself with my hubby, I can tell him anything and enjoy every moment I have with him and not be afraid that my skeletons in my closet will one day come out .
As bestfriends, me and my husband share the same dream and it is not to be Rich someday, although it would good to have a lot of money but for us our dream is to be able to enjoy our life each day, provide for our daughter and save a little for our future. We have simple dreams and aspirations which makes it easy for us to reach for our goals and live our life the way we wanted to. Were both very simple and low key, we enjoy all that we have right now because we know we really worked hard for it which makes us appreciate each othe more 'coz we both recognized the fact that without the each other all this is not possible.
My hubby always say that he got lucky that I came in his life ( pag hindi makapal ung mukha nya at iclaim na swerte ko daw sa knya hehehehe) the truth is I am one lucky girl to have a man like him, he really has changed my whole world upside down.

CC: Our Days at work

Rodliz’s Nest

THis is a 2 in 1 post hehehhe sorry I was so busy last week.

MOVIE TIME:

My hubby loves watching movies, he likes sci-fi, horror, adventure and action on the other hand I like romance, drama and comedy. From time to time I like watching filipino movies just because I feel like it hehehehe.
When we got to the movie house, we have to tag along my precious munchkin since her baby sitter is only from monday-friday and with a 2 yr. old in tow we can help it but one of us needs to be with my daughter to tend to her needs- go pee, go out, walk around, run around usually we watch movies that my hubby likes so I am the one left with no choice but to go along with bea.
If watch movies in our house, I would be very busy doing household chores that my hubby would be begging me to sit and keep still and watch the movie with him hehehhehe.

DAYS AT WORK:

Our work schedule is the same, we leave our house at 7:30 am in the morning , Monday-Friday, on saturdays only my hubby goes to work. Our daughter rides in my car and before I go to work i would drop her to the baby sitter's house. My hubby's works place is farther than my office work place so I have volunteered to drop my daughter to the sitter's house. As soon as we have evrything in our car and bea is in her car seat, my hubby would kiss us good bye and say see you later.

During work hours we seldom call each other, my hubby hates texting so I can't t send him text messages. He is also going in and out of his office that chat is not an option only. Recently we get to have days that we eat lunch together but that seldom happens.

I get off work at 5 pm and he usually gets off around 6 pm or later, so naturally I would also be the one picking up my daughter from the sitters house. At home after work, I will usually be preparing our dinner while watching my daughter while I do the dishes ( still working eh...) and my hubby would usually get a beer or drink somethign to relieve his stress from work... we would usually talk about our day at work before we sleep. Like I said before if he is upto somethign we would cut our chit chat short and take advantage of each other hehehheheh.

CC: FAVORITE PLACE

Rodliz’s Nest

Our favorite places is this weeks topic on Couple’s Corner.

When it comes to food or dining out my husband and me prefer Chinese food, Korean food and Thai Food, most often when we are dining out on a regular day we would be going to a Chinese, Korean and Thai Restaurant- we used to enjoy Korean food a lot but we are now widening our choices and we prefer Thai food over Korean food both of them are spicy but we both agree that Thai cuisine have more variety than Korean. Our fave restaurant now is SPICY THAI RESTAURANT, it is just a small place but on peak hours it would be filled to maximum, there food are always cooked fresh and the servings are very big. My daughter likes their iced tea with milk-it is so good that she can finish a tall glass without sharing.
On special occasions we usually prefer going to hotels which offers buffet-Saipan World Resort is our fave place when we are celebrating an occasion, they offer a wide variety of dishes and best of is you can eat till you drop. LOL
Our house is our favorite place to hang out- as I said my husband prefers staying home on his day off, so we just spend time at our house, well it really doesn’t matter where we hang out as long as we are together.
My husband hates shopping, so I do the shopping for us- since we are located in a tiny island there are limited choices when it comes to clothing so I usually do my shopping online, prices are cheaper and there a lot of choices. I usually buy from ebay, walmart, amazon and for electronics from crutchfield.
And since we are both in a foreign land our favorite destination is the Philippines nothing beats the feeling of being home.

CC: Sweet Gestures

Rodliz’s Nest
It's Thursday once again and this weeks theme on Couple Corner is SWEEY GESTURES.
Wrong timing naman itong theme na ito LQ pa naman kami ni hubby ( hahahhah as in broadcast ba over internet) Anyway, I'll try hard to let go of my inarte muna and think of the sweet gestures that this guy ( hahaha this guy na lang talaga) has done to me :)
Sweet gestures that our partners give to us may not be big and extravagant, small things like carrying the groceries, lifting heavy things are just some sweet little gestures that are partners do to us.
My hubby would usually cook dinner and clean the entire house on those days that I feel so tired. He would take care of our daughter if I am sick. He has done a lot of small things for me that I sometimes fail to thank him. I would not worry about bringing the dog out to do its business 'coz my husband always take him out at night, throwing the trash, mopping the floor and cleaning my car is just some of my husband sweet gestures.
A kiss on the cheek out of nowhere would usually make me tickle, a hug from behind while I am cooking is also one sweet thing that my husband does. Holding my hand while where walking or sitting side by side is also one of my fave sweet gesture from my hubby.
On my part, ( if I am not mad at him hehehheh- me galit pa talaga heheeh), just preparign his clothes in the morning is one of the sweet gesture that my hubby said he likes the most. Giving him coffee in the morning, embrace him tightly and kiss him on the lips with a hint of seduction ( whaahhaha) usually would make his day and wake up his senses ( I am such a flirt hehehehe).
Those are just some simple sweet gestures that my hubby and I do for each other. Head on to our site for more entry, just click on the badge.
Happy Wednesday every one.

CC: Sacrifices for our Loved ones

Rodliz’s Nest

What i'd Miss? Wheeeeeeeeeeeew A lot! I am still way over my head with work but i promised mommy liz that i'll make with her so here it goes.

BED TIME HABITS: I missed this meme so here is my post for last week's topic;

Our bedtime usually includes washing up for my two babies ( my hubby and bea) and shower for me-can't seem to sleep if I didnt have a night shower. After that we would go to our bedroom and watch TFC's TV Patrol and try to put bea to sleep, after awhile my little princess will give in and sleep to give mommy some time to apply facial cream on my face and lotion on my arms and legs hehehe. We have two beds in our bedroom one for bea and for us, while I am putting bea to sleep she would demand that I lay down beside her only when she is soundly asleep can I transfer to our bed.

After Im done with my bed time routine, I will lay down beside my hubby and catch up on his day. We usually would talk and share stories for a while before we say our good nights. If we are up to something *Wink* we will cut short our chit chatting and we would cuddle and then take advantage of each other hahaahha.

After all that we would kis each other and say our good nights, then we would both face each others side. Sometimes my hubby would hug me but then I would get irritated and ask him to stay away from me LOL, I cant sleep if someone is so close to me hehehe I feel like I am being suffocated. There is actually a big space in the middle of our bed when we sleep since we both torture our self and sleep at the fardest corner of the bed. That is our bed time routine.

Sacrifices for our loved ones- well I don't think I have given big sacrifices for my loved one. I think it is not really a sacrifice when deep in your heart you were willing to give. We are lucky that we have not experienced anything that we can't handle ( God is very GOOD). We are lucky that we both have a decent work which give us the opportunity to enjoy our life, save a little and be able to help our relatives in every possible we can. We are lucky that we both have pledge our commitment to each other that no matter what happens we will make it through hand in hand.

Have a wonderful Wednesday every one.

CC: Honesty is the best POLICY!!

Rodliz’s Nest

For this weeks topic on Couple's Corner, it's all about Honesty...

My hubby and I doesnt keep anythign from each other, but since my hubby is not the talkative type you have to squeeze all information from him ( Lol), but then there would be times that he would just open up abouth things that is bothering him.

On the other hand, I am a very talkative person hehehhe, i would tell everythign and anything complete with every little details. Although there would be times that I would tell white lies ( heheeh) to him but then again I would not feel good that is why I have to confess and tell him the real truth.

Honesty is such a BIG factor in our relationship.... there would be times that we would get to talk about life and all the things around us ( tsismis hehehehhe)... and in this tiny island that we live in you get to encounter a lot of Married individuals who cheat on their partners while they are earning a living here most of them actually would have extended families here. Even at church the Priest would sometimes comment or make a sermon about being honest to your husband and wife. You would really see those who look guilty, not that I am condemning them or anything. My husband would always tell me- If ever you find another man and you want to be with him, just be honest to me and let me know, it would hurt less if I know first. ( ang kapal parang ako pa ang manlalaki), maybe because we both have seen a lot of people in our tiny island doing such dishonest things to their partners ( man or woman), my hubby thinks at times that I too are capable of doing such thing.

My answer to him would always be the same ( syempre me batok muna at sasabihin ko kapal mo), I would always tell him, I think it is not in my system to hurt you that much... I have always love you and I respect you to much to do such a thing to you, I can never hurt you thay way, and If ( that is a big IF) that would ever happen... I would spare your the pain and tell you before it even happens.

I am happy with my relationship with my husband because I dont hide anything from him. Imagine how hard it is for you to be both happy if either one is keeping something from each other. I know because of our love, respect and honesty with each other we would still be holding hands and lying beside each other even when we are already gray and old.

CC: Breakfast in Bed

Rodliz’s Nest

I wasnt sure if I can join this week's meme 'coz i coudlnt remember if I had breakfast in bed. The closest thing to having breakfast in bed that I could remember is when I gave birth to bea (does that count? nyahahahhaha). Like I said before, my hubby loves sleeping especially when it is his day off ( Sundays), he would sleep until 10 am in the morning, by then he would be rushing to eat his breakfast and take a shower and prepare to go to church. So naturally I wouldnt expect him to bring me breakfast in bed ( :( wahhhhhhhhh).

On the other hand I am a morning person, no matter how late I sleep, I still would wake up before 6 am, I would have a terrible headache all throughout the day if I just stay in the bed. So after I have waken up, I usually get up and do some chores.

I may not give my husband "breakfast in bed" but I always make sure that as soon as he woke up he has his coffee and breakfast ready. It may not be in bed but at least I put some effort on preparing his breakfast and I make sure that it is something that he likes.

CC: Will you still love me tomorrow?

Rodliz’s Nest

Like Pehpot, I am lost with this week's topic on couples corner. Mommy Liz where are you? (:

Anyway this week's theme for couple's corner its Will You still Love me Tomorrow?

I have asked hubby on how long will he love me, his answer would always be forever. Knowing me I would follow-up my question with why? (LOL) his answer will be-Because I could not ask for more, I am contented with what I have and with what I dont have. Then I would follow up with another question- Wouldn't you get tired of seeing me everyday for the rest of your life? Wouldn't you like to have another woman to wake up to every morning? ( as if I am giving him ideas to look for another woman right?LOL) His answer would be- No, your face is the only one I would like to wake up each and every day, then he would kiss me to stop me from asking anymore questions. ( :

As for me, If I would be asked that question , my answer will be hmmm... maybe hahahhah nah, just kidding.. Of course I will, why else would I not, this man has been with me for 8 yrs. He has seen me through everything, he had been there at the lowest point of my life and he helped me through it all. He had been my constant companion, my confidant, my greatest fan and the love of my life. I have experienced a lot of things that I never imagined I could and all of that is because of him. We may not agree with everythign but at the end of the day, when all is said and done.. I still want to be with him and I made a promise with God that I will love him till do us part.

CC: Plans for Valentines Day...

Rodliz’s Nest
Oh my, is it Wednesday alreay... I am terribly sorry for all those who visited my blog and posted some comments. I am so over my head with work at the office that i dont have time to blog or hop. Thanks so much :).
Anyway on to our topic for this weeks: Plans for Valentines Day.
I asked my hubby where is he taking me for valentines day, he said we will just eat at Palms Resort Hotel ( It is located south of Saipan, and the restaurant is build above a pond with plenty of Japanese Koi fishes, the restaurant also has a nice view of the ocean), it is a bit far from our house but since it is valentines we will be having lunch there after the mass.
I also asked him if I would be receiving a rose from him, he replied: Valentines is on a sunday, so I am not obligated to send you roses LOL...
My husband as I said can be tad romantic at times and there are also times that he would be just to boring (zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Peace daddy). But no matter what I will get and would not get on valentines day, what is more important is how he shows his love for me everyday (:.
Happy wednesday every one!!! Advance Happy valentines day also !!!

CC: Bringing out the Dragon in me!!! =)

Rodliz’s Nest

It’s Couple’s Corner once again and this week’s theme is HE MADE ME ANGRY…
Well my husband say that I am always mad at him… He says I am like a lion always growling at him ( though my mother calls me tiger also ‘coz super sungit daw ako hehehehhe) ( HOW MEAN!!)
I usually don’t want to talk when I am mad ‘coz I am scared that I would say things that would be hurtful or things that I don’t mean. So when I am mad I just keep quiet but my husband would keep on bothering me to talk to him and try to talk out our problem ( more of him talking and explaining).
I can remember two incidents when I was really furious with him…
One was in 2005 we were already married and we didn’t have Bea yet. My friend asked me to attend an event with her and so I did , when I left the house my husband and friends were drinking in front of our house. I asked my husband to call me in my cell if they are going out so I know where he was and I wouldn’t get worried, he told me NO… we are not going anywhere after this I will be sleeping. Awww, how proud I was to have a good husband (not!!). I think I was out about 3 hours or so when my friend drop me off at our house I saw our car in the parking lot and our light in front of our house was already turned off so my friend said How lucky are you? You husband indeed is now asleep. So I went inside our house only to find and empty bedroom, my husband cousin who was staying with us at that time told me that as soon as I was out they also went out riding one of his friends car (GRRRRRRRR!!!). I felt so betrayed and I really wanted to snap my husband’s off. So I just took off my shoes and just put on a slipper ( oh did I mention that I was wearing a cocktail dress?), got the car keys and wallet and off I went to search for him. I didn’t even bother to take a long his cousin I just want to slap him and let him know how I angry I was. In our tiny Island there are a lot of night clubs ( w/ strip dancers) all around, so I planned to go to each and every club there is to look for them. My first try…. Lucky their car is there and apparently they are trying to get home before I did.. Imagine their shock when I parked next to their car while they are just getting out of the club.. His friends felt frightened and didn’t say a word my husband who looked so pale just climb in the car and his first word is SORRY. I just drive home without saying a word ( actually I am trying to decide what to say first). When I parked our car infront of our house he asked me if I was mad ( DUH…. Kainis). I told him I felt betrayed and played for a fool and I was so mad at him that I want to break his head off. He said he was sorry and it was just peer pressure… I cried because of anger that day… I told him that I give up I don’t want to be doing this every time and that I was tired ( if you know my husband’s friends you’ll understand me- let’s just say they like the girl’s at the club so much).
Living on a tiny island where you see everyone almost anywhere.. I didn’t want my husband to be going to night clubs imagine going to the church and suddenly he would bow his head down just because the girl’s working at those clubs would sit right infront of us. How uncomfortable that would be right? Not for him but for me…
I don’t have anything against any person who is working hard for a living even those working at nightclubs… but some of this girl’s would do anything even just for $1… and some would take advantage of the guys who goes there like asking them to buy them things while the family of this guys in the Philippines are suffering ( I have encountered a lot of people like that).
The 2nd time I got furious with my husband was when bea was sick…. Of course any mommy who has a sick child would be very alarmed or agitated. Bea was crying then and I was consoling her then he comes in to the room and he told me something like our neighbor ( who is his co-worker) takes better care of her kids than you. When her kids are sick she isn’t even worried an ounce not like you. And so on and so forth, I was so pissed off that I scream to the top of my lungs I told him that I don’t care what he and his neighbor thinks and all you do is yak and yak and yak but I don’t see you or your neighbor helping me out. I am the only one who does things for bea and all you do is point out what I am doing is wrong. He got shocked that I shouted and said those things but at that time when I had only a couple of hours sleep in 3 straight days that is how I felt.
I may be a tiger everyday but don’t wait for the Dragon inside of me to come out or else your in big trouble and my sister can vouch for that hehehheheheh ( she was my constant victim when we were younger).

Happy Wednesday… More entries just click on the badge.

Couple's Corner- Kiss and Make up

Rodliz’s Nest

For this weeks theme on couple's corner it is kiss and make up.

Whenever my husband and I would have misunderstandings I would just shut up and try not to talk to him. I just want to have silence in the moments that I feel hurt, angry or disrespected. Used to be he would constantly bug me and asked what is the problem and why I am angry/mad but thru the years he learned that it is better for us to have a period of silence, since it is no use if we talk with each other while we are still on the height of anger and pain.

So like I said on my previous post there would be nights that we would be sleeping on the ends of our bed just to avoid sleeping together LOL, but in the mornign when my husband wake up he would hug me and kiss me and say he is sorry and asked if we could be friends again. So what the heck we will be friends and a little more than that.... hahahahha

And on the rare occassions that I will be still mad and would still ignore him and go to the office without talking and saying goodbye, I would wish that someone would just deliver flowers to my office with a note saying he is sorry.... BUT that is just wishful thinking he is not that kind of a guy, but he would eventually call and asked me if I am still mad and if I am he would say he is sorry again and asked if we could be friends again heheheehhe....

It is always nice for my husband to realize one rule in our relationship- it is " I am always right and it is always his fault". LOL, kidding aside on the occassion that I made the mistake and I caused him to get angry of course at first I would be stubborn enough to get mad and even acknowledge that it is my fault but then when I see his face looking all angry and hurt I get to realize that maybe ( maybe pa no) I did something bad, So i swallow my pride and say my apologies. Then I would kiss him and give him a big reward *wink*.

How about you how do you kiss and make up with your hubby. Share with us every wednesday on Couple's Corner. More entries just click on the badge.

Our First Year Together....

At last, I can join my weekly meme's Hooray.... for this weeks theme at Couple's Corner it is our First Year as Husband and wives...

Well for starter it wasnt easy... LOL, Imagine being with a stranger 24/7 heheh just kidding.

Kidding aside our first year together was full of ups and downs... it is the stage where you really get to know each other very well. All your inhibitions with each other would be gone just by getting married.

For us particulary our, First year together as husband and wife was made more difficult by the fact that a few days before our wedding in the Philippines, I was diagnosed with PCOD ( polycystic ovarian disease) what a great wedding gift =(. There I was wanting to start our new life with the man of my dreams hoping that someday we would have our own little family..Then with just a couple of test and ultrasound.... the doctor said... I am sorry to tell you this but you would be having a great difficulty getting pregnant and the chances of having a child is remote even with the help of medicine....

We started our first year together on a rough start....I keep hiding my true feelings that I feel incomplete and I just pretended that I am alright. Little did I know that he knew deep inside I am a wreck... He knew from the start that I wanted to be a MOM.... probably because I have promised myself to be a great mother to my child... that I wont be like my own mother.... that I would be better...

Being infertile, lessens your self confidence... at times you would feel as if your worthless.. that you are not complete... you always look at your self as subsidiary and not worth it.... Having faced with this issue I must say It has affected our marriage life greatly.

At one point my husband told me ( while I am in my self pity mode)- I wished I never married you.... Maybe then you wont feel more pressured to give me a child... maybe then you would see that I am here and what's more important is the life we make together ... you and I, I never said that I would marry you just to have kids... I married you because I want to spend my life with you and not what you can give me... He goes on begging... Please baby, just for once... think of how great we are together before we knew of your condition... how much we have fun.. how much love we gave each other... how blissbul life was.. He even said, if it is really hard for you to go on with this marriage and if it would really make your life miserable just thinking of what we dont have rather than what we have right now, I think it is best if we separate and give each other freedom ( Gusto pa ko idivorce on our first year together heheheh).

Well that was my wake up call, that night I think about what he has said and I just prayed to God that if I can't be a mom just help me to be a better wife. After almost a year of self pity, I woke up and see how much God blessed me with a wonderful guy who was willing to accept me with all my imperfections and who is still willing to spend his whole life with me ( with or without a kid).
Our first year may not be perfect but I believe it was the start of a deeper relationship with my husband. One that is past the honeymoon stage, realizing that this man would be my forever, the one who would always be at my side no matter what and who loves me more than his life.

We may have started at the wrong side but I think we would catch up and finish on top =)

Couple's Corner-The first time we met/dined out

Happy wednesday everyone! It is time again for our couples corner and this week we get to share our experience about the first time we met /dined out with our partners.

The first time I met my husband was around February of 2002, that time I am just about a few months here in Saipan. My mother at that time was in the Philippines to fix a problem we had with my sister ( she got pregnant and my dad who lives with her doesnt have any idea about her condition). It was lonely being alone in our room at the company provided barracks for my mom ( I used to share a room with her), but i took that time to learn how to live independently.

Since I am just new with the company, I was from time to time being assigned to the different business activities of the company. At that time I was assigned at the video shop since the clerk in charge did not report for work.

I still can remember vividly how my prince charming entered the video shop, he was wearing a red shirt which was their uniform =) and the first phrase he blurted was- kamukha mo ung ex-girl friend ( you look like my ex-girlfriend) How rude! LOL. In my mind I told my self this guy is so fresh and he is really annoying. He asked me if he could rent a tape and I asked him to sign a membership form, he said Do I have to? I'm like DUH.... of course naman no( as if friends kami) .

After I got the information from and checked out the tape, he asked me if I have a ride home. I told him I have paid someone to take care of my transportation and then he just said okay.

The next day.... he went back to the video shop during his lunch break he told me he was so disappointed to find out that I was not working their at that time... he came back that afternoon ( i'm usually assigned at the video shop from 5pm-9pm) he asked me again if he could drop me at our home... well what do you know my ever reliable ride just called and he said his car broke down and if I could aske someone from work to drop me at our house instead.

I accepted his offer ( that is the first time that I have done that, hey I am desperate LOL), before we went home he asked if we could eat first as he was startving, I said okay as if I have a choice I am at his mercy LOL. We ate at Jolibee and I think I ordered shanghai rolls and he ordered palabok. Like Mommy Liz I only eat a portion of my meal ( hehehhehe dont want him to have the impression that I ate a lot). After the diner he drop me home and we said our good bye ( like niko- no kiss or hug also)

It was the start of our friendship, back then I was in the process of ending a 3 year relationship to a person I prefer to forget =(, he was there when I needed someone to give me advice, a shoulder to cry on. He has given me the confidence to move one and to realize that I deserve someone better ( meaning HIM)... From the looks of it I think he took advantage of my situation hahahha.

And for the record I don't look like his ex girlfriend.... please I dont want to be associated with them hahahhaha.

Couples Corner #1 Meet Mr. & Mrs. Patawaran =)

Rodliz’s Nest

This is the first week of Mommy Liz' Meme and I have invited myself to join this weekly meme, =) as much as I am busy in the office I love participating in weekly meme's I have Pixel Bug for monday, Couple Corner for wednesday, Girl's talk on Thursdays and Mommy Momment's on Fridays. I have Tuesday open so anyone who has a meme for that day please invite me LOL.
Anyway, I would like to introduce myself, My name is Jeniffer ( jenny, jen or kikay (from my mom)), I was born and raised in Baguio City Philippines. I am the youngest of two ( I have an older sister- J0-anne) My dad is from La union and Isabela but he too was born and raised in Baguio City and My Mom is from Imus Cavite.
I went to an exclusive all Girl's School in Highschool to avoid having a boyfriend in an early age. I went to college at Saint Louis University and graduated with a degree in Accounting. I had my first boyfriend a year after I graduated college!
I am a very shy person at first and it takes a little while before I warm up to the person but once I do I will surely be a friend for keeps =). My mother calls me tiger because she says when I am mad I am scary hahahhah. I am a simple girl who is contented with the simple things in life.
I am now a mom to my precious angel Breana Ysabel and has been out of the Philippines since August 2001. I am now located in a tiny island called Saipan which is now home for my little family. I am now working as an accountant for a closed family held corporation with different subsidiaries and I have been with them since August of 2002.
My husband on the other hand is Jun ( BIENVENIDO JR.), he is the 2nd child ( 2 brothers) on his mothers side, but on his dad's family he is the 10th child, he is not that close to his dad's first family up until now so, I am not sure how many brother or sister he has on his dad's side.
He is from San fernando, Pampanga, due to his complicated family life he wasnt able to attend college and instead work at a machine shop as a mechanic at a young age of 17, He came to Saipan on January 1997 and he first worked for a tire shop at a Shell gas station for a couple of years then he was assigned to tanker driver and then eventually was promoted Operations Supervisor at his present company now.
My husband is very quiet and he is very dedicated with his work that sometimes I feel Im competing for attention against his job ( that's how dedicated he is). He is such a goof ball when it comes to our daughter bea, he would do anything and everything just to make my baby laugh. He has taught me so many things but the most important thing he has taught me is the value of SAVING, he turns over every cent of his paycheck to me and in return I only have to make sure I deposit a fixed amount on our account every month.
Well that's it for our introduction... Why dont you join us also on couples corner every week... it would be fun.
Happy Wednesday every one =)
