MM: Motherly Advice

Since Mother's day is this Sunday, this week's topic on Mommy Momment's is Motherly Advice, I am not sure what advice I can give since I myself is a first time Mom... I will be celebrating my 3rd mother's day this year, but up until this day I can still remember my first, it was May 13, 2007 the day God has given me a mother's day miracle, it was the day that my daughter was given back to me... I can never forget that Mother's day.

Anyway, the advice I can give new mother's like me is RELAX... I remember the first few months that I had my bea, I was so tensed and agitated that if she don't cry for a period of time I get nervous, if she cries continuosly I get frustrated.. I remember not sleeping the whole night just to make sure she's still breathing or if she is okay or not.

And of course to ENJOY... you have to enjoy every momment of it, before you knew it they'll be grown up... though at times they keep on asking questions that sometimes you forget what you are supposed to do or buy since all you hear is why, who, what and all, eventhough they keep on clinging to you that you cant even pee or comb your hair just because they want to be with mommy.. At the end of the day all of it was worth it. It is really amazing how you learn new things in the eyes of your children, I learn something new from my daughter everyday.... can you imagine she knows a SLOTH ( a sleepy one) before I do.

After a verrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyy lonnnnnnnnnng hiatus finally I am able to join Mommy Momments, im crossing my fingers that I can keep up :)

Anyway this week's theme on MM is BLUE and here is my share ;

This is my Bea's fave outfit the Shirt has Dora on it and the pants has boots, she love wearing this.

Here she is in a 2-piece bathing suit when we went for swimming last December.

This was taken on March of this year when her dad was asked to be a God parent to our friends baby.

This song always put a tear in my eye whenever I hear it. All of the things written here is really how I feel about my daughter. I just hope i live up to be a good mommy to her and in return she will be a better mommy than me to her future children.

MM: Valentines Day

A day before valentines day, I told bea we would buy a gift for dadi since it is valentines day. I don't think she really understand what valentines day is all about but she was quite happy we are going out to shop ( she loves shopping especially for her LOL).

After we purchased our gift for dadi she insisted that I also buy her a gift- a GODIVA Chocolate Bar, quite expensive compared to the store brand chocolates a bar cost $4. Anyway I bought her the chocolate as a gift. On our way home she was asking me to buy her a baby ( for the nth time), so i decided to visit a local store which caters to kids, they have a wide variety of toys, clothes and stuff just for kids. I was willing to buy her a baby doll as her present for valentines day after all she love's being a mommy to her doll. We found one that would be perfect- it's a baby alive doll with bottle and all the only problem bea didnt like is the fact that you cannot put real water/milk on the bottle she wants an almost life like baby doll ( o oh! i think someones asking for a sibling!). So we left the store with nothing, she was quite disappointed but I told her I promise to buy her a baby doll that she will like.

At her young age, she dont understand yet what valentines is all about but she was quite happy that we gave dadi a gift, mommy got a rose and she got chocolates..

Im pretty sure next year would be different..

MM: Message of Love

My Dear Bea,

Hi, honey…

Since you came to our lives, everyday has been the happiest moments in my life, each day is better than the previous ones. As I always say, the day you came to my life is the day that I realized my purpose in life- it is to be your MOMMY.

From your first smile, first cry and all of the firsts that you’ve had be it good or bad, I was there beside you, when you get sick I am the first one to get alarmed and agitated, if only I could take the sickness away, if only I can have your pain so I don’t have to hear you cry in pain even just for an ounce. I remember those days when I would not sleep the whole night just to check up on you, just to make sure your comfortable and that you are alright. See honey even those days, I will surely keep in my heart- it was those days that I am at my best ( not that I like you being sick), those where the days that I feel wanted more than ever.

From your first teeth, first words spoken and your first walk alone I was prouder than ever. I remember you always calling me DADA when you were learning how to talk and every time I correct you and tell you that I am not DADA but Mommy, you would look at me and call me DADA and then you would flash a big smile on your face ( as if to tease mommy). The first time you called me mommy, I almost cry.. I thought the day will never come that I will be a Mommy and here you are calling me Mommy.. I so love hearing you call me Mommy.

Your wit constantly amaze me… from the way you talk, the way you analyze things, the way you give me attitude whenever you don’t get what you want ( dadi said you got that from me (: )I am just so thankful that you turn out to be so smart and outspoken.

Lately, you have shown so much appreciation to all the things I give you-be it big or small everytime I hand you a present or a treat you would touch my face and say Thank you mommy, I love you then followed with a kiss and hug. Oh, how I feel so happy everytime you do that.. Thank you honey!

I am so inlove with you baby every day more than yesterday… Sometimes I look at you at your sleep and I cant help but wonder what I did to deserve you, you are my miracle, the answer to my prayers and my life. I just hope and pray that you continue to grow up as happy as you can be… as smart as your are now( even more) and as good as God wanted you to be.

Happy valentines day Honey and remember mommy will always love you no matter what. Thank you for changing my life and giving me reason to be thankful everyday.

MM: Welcoming a new sibling

It's friday once again and this weeks theme on Mommy Momments is Welcoming a new sibling.

We are planning on adding a new member to our little family this year, actually we have been working on that since last year but I think it is not yet the right time for us and when we are all prepared and the everythign is in its proper place God will give us another miracle.

My bea in return had been practicing a lot with her mommy skills... we had to buy feedign bottles for her baby dolls because as she said they need milk. She would also use her own pull up diapers on her babies. We bought the dolls strollers, walkers and even carriers.

We asked bea if she wants a baby brother or baby sister, at times she would answer sister, sometimes it would be brother but most of the time she would answer SUPER BABIES ( from Dora's tape).

I can see how she would enjoy having a new baby around, I remember when my kumare had her baby daughter and we went to their place to visit them bea was so concern that the baby isnt drinking enough milk. She would constantly insist that a milk bottle be given to the baby and she wants to do it her self. I am just scared she wont be as gentle to the baby as needed since her only experience in handling the baby is from a plastic one.

I am sure it would be another learning time for all of us once we are blessed with another miracle and I can't wait for the journey to begin.

MOMMY MOMENTS: NEW FAVORITE

It's friday once again, time for MOmmy Moments... I Missed last weeks theme "NEW BORN DAYS" I was drafting my entry but then I got tied up at work I never had the chance to finish my entry and post it. Anyway Ill make up for this week.

Bea's favorites are still the same since she was little some may have been added and some she just dont want it like she used to do when she was small. She used to like Spaghetti especially if it is from Jolibee but now she doesnt want it anymore. She prefers chicken nuggets from Mc Donalds.

She still wont eat vegetables as I want her to but where getting there, Her God mother ( ate rose) who takes care of her while I am at work usually would trick her on eating vegetables sometimes she would dice the vegetables into tiny bits and incorporate it with the soup and rice. Other times it would just be asking her to just have a bite of the vegetbales.

She still likes chicken, soup and bread though but her sweet tooth loves chocolate cake, lollipop, jelly ace , I also noticed her favorite flavor is chocolate for cakes, ice cream and but for candy she likes lemon. But she only get to have sweets after she has eaten her meal.

She still loves watching Dora and Barney but recently she enjoys watching Mickey Mouse Club House and Curious George.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse ( the magic phrase to make the clubhouse appear is MISHKA MUSHKA MICKEY MOUSE! LOL... as you can see i have seen this a couple of times)
All time Favorite.... Dora the explorer Thanks to This Bea can count in spanish and English YEY... And can you imagine my daughter memorized all the tapes we got , she would specifically request to watch a particular tape ( example: Mommy, I like to watch Dora Superbabies) and we have almost 30 tapes but she knows them all even Barney's tape.

Barney... Bea loves singign with them ... I had to memorize the songs so I can sing along ( as per her request)

Curious George... she loves this monkey

Jelly ace she can finish one bag of Jelly ace in one sitting...

Lollipop... she love's lemon flavor..

Chocolate Cake... Dont let her sing Happy Birthday unless there is cake around 'coz once she sings she would definitely ask for a cake...

Mommy Moments-New Year's List

At last I can join Mommy Moments again... it's been ages since i join these meme.. This year ill try to keep up with my blog.

This week's topic on Mommy Moments is New Year's List:

1. BIRTHDAYS- I will be turning 31 on Jan. 17 but i have not planned anything yet LOL. Bea will be turning 3 on May 11 and as of now I have already decided that the theme for her party will be fairies( tinkerbell) I already purchased green and purple cups to use as give aways. My Hubby will turn 36 on June 12 of course that will require a lot of cooking and drinking for his friends hehehhe.

2. SCHOOL- Since bea will be 3 yrs. old this year it is time for her to attend K-3/Head Start. Last year I enroll her to pre-K and daycare she learned a lot but her health suffered since one care provider is incharged with 5 or more kids after school finishes they were not able to tend to the kids properly the whole 4 months that bea was there we have been to 5 doctor appointments due to severe cold, cough and lastly UTI. Bea's weight also suffered in the 4 months she has been there she dropped closed to 10 lbs which is scary for a mommy like me. Apparently if she doesnt want to drink milk or even eat they would just let her. Imagine going 8 hrs without food or milk even sleep for a toddler that is not proper. I only found out about this things when she got sick with UTI so I immediately decided to pull her out of that daycare/school.

This time though I will enroll her on the school program she would go in at 8 am and finish at 11 am or so then I would just pick her up and bring her back to the baby sitter's house so she can still eat properly and take a nap in the afternoon.

3. LEARN NEW THINGS- Bea already knows how to sing ABC, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and so much more... she also can name the objects that we point and even can name the colors. She can count from 1-20 and can count uno-kinse ( thanks to Dora). This year I want to try to teach her how to wright her name and also the alphabets.

4. LEARN TO PLAY WITH OTHERS- Since bea is and only child and she is only the one being taken cared of by her baby sitter, once there are new kids to play with she tends to be a little aloof and shy that she would choose just to play all by herself I want her to develop her social skills so this year I vow to bring her out more often and encourage her to play with kids her age.

5. FULLY POTTY TRAIN- Bea already is potty trained but at night before going to bed I still need to put on a pull-ups just in case of any accidents. There would time she would go on the whole night without even a drop of pee on her pull ups but sometimes ( rarely) she would wake up in the morning with a diaper full of pee which would sometimes leek on her pj and bed. So this year I plan to train her not to pee in bed at night.

6. VISIT THE DENTIST- The last time I brought bea to the dentist she was hysterical and she refuses to open her mouth for the dentist to have a look at her teeth, so the dentist just prescribed fluoride drops and will have to come back again after she turns 3. We are hopefull that by then she would be more cooperative ( Im crossing my fingers).

7. OVERCOME FEAR- Bea is in a stage right now that she fears almost anything- she fears santa clause, the mascot for the island (Saipanda), her ball which she is just playing then later she would get freaked out and run to us screaming- I scared, I scared. The list of things she gets scared of are getting longer and longer. Even when she would ask us to go to the beach and swim, she would be afraid the minute we park our car infront of the beach and she would ask us to go home- I would always try to talk to her and let her that there is nothing to be afraid of since she is with mommy and daddy.

8. EATING MORE KINDS OF FOOD- Right now she doesnt eat vegetables with the exception of potato and papaya other than that she doesnt want to eat it. If I let her try to eat a brocolli she would take a bite of it but then as soon as it is her mouth she would gag and out the brocolli go. It is not only vegetables- even pork or beef she doesnt want, chicken she would only eat if it is fried or from mcdonalds other than that she doesnt want to eat. Eggs she would only eat the white part the yolk she would ask us to take out and it is only hard boiled egg, if it si fried she wont eat it. Now she only eats rice with soup, noodles or just the sauce of adobo or menudo/afritada. She is contented in eating those and she wouldnt try something new.

9. LEARNING TO RIDE A BIKE- Bea has 2 bikes in our house and she likes riding them but we have to push it, we are teaching her how to pedal but the stubborn her wouldnt want to do it.

10.ENJOY LIFE- This year I plan to do just that =).

MOMMY MOMMENTS- TANTRUMS TANTRUMS TANTRUMS!!!!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Its another day for our Mommy Momments and for this weeks topic it's the dreaded tantrums. My bea has bouts of tantrums almost everyday probably because she is in her terrible two's phase ( hehehehe). Whenever she wants something she cries... even before I can understand what she wants she is already wailing her heart out.

It is hard for parents expecially mommies to deal with tantrums... I for one gets crazy whenever my sweet angel throws her tantrum fits. At times Ill just be quiet and ignore her then she will stop but most of the time if you ignore her she will cry more.... if you console her she will cry even more ..... It is a constant battle dealing with tantrums.

What usually works for bea is when I Yell at her and warn her that if she doesnt behave she would have to go to time out... she hates being placed on a corner (LOL). But sometimes that doesnt work also... That will be the time I would really be quiet and just look at her in the eye and dont say a word.. she would know by then that I am M_A_D and it is time for her to stop whinning...

What I love about my daughter is after her tantrum fits she would come to me and kiss me and say Mommy... sorry...

I still have a long way to go before my daughter outgrews this toddler stage and I am thinking by that time I would already have a full head of gray hair... lucky if I dont get bald by that time LOL.

This is my bea last saturday, she was asking for ice cream before she even ate her lunch.. of course I said NO.... I was scolding her that is why she looks like this ... I posted this pic on my friendster account and my dad who saw this pic immediately texted me and asked why I am making my daughter cry ( Hay, Grandparents!)

That's really how she cries... tears falling down like river.... shouting like we are on top of the mountain.... Really make me crazy....

Mommy Momments-Trip to the Mall

Yay! FRIDAY....
Its another week for our Mommy Moments and this weeks theme is Trip to the Mall.
In our tiny island we really dont have a Mall, We only have department stores that sells everything. It is good though 'coz you get to go grocery shopping then look for clothes, toys and shoes at the same time.

The closest thing to a mall that we have here in the island is the Duty Free Shop (DFS) it is only about 2 flrs. high and it sells all name brand items from clothes, liquour cigarette and accessories. Inside the DFS there is also a small plya area for the kids and a small coffee shop and thats it.

Mommy Moments-treasured Picture

For this weeks theme for Mommy Moment's it is TREASURED PICTURES. As I looked on my picture archives I can't seem to choose which ones are may favorite and which ones I really treasure coz each one of them I dearly treasure. So for this week's theme i just choose some of my treasured pictures.

The above picture was taken when i was about 5 yrs. old., pictured with my mom is my one and only sibling jo-anne and as usual I am with my dad =). This picture alwasy reminds me where I come from and what I was then.. It makes me more appreciative of the things I have and the things I am able to do now.
The above picture was taken when we got the confirmation from my OB that I was indeed pregnant and to my surprise I was already 8 weeks along and have not known it =) ( We were a bit hesitant to depend on the Home test so we needed the OB's confirmation ).

Any picture I had with my bea is bound to be treasured. After long years of waiting We were able to experience how it is to have our own family. I must say it is an experience that had change ourlives forever.

Above, was taken during bea's christening I think she is almost 1-month old at that time. See how happy we were to have our own family =)

On her first birhtday.. I planned the whole thing...as a first time mom I wanted everythign to be perfect for my bea and it was everythign I could imagine and even more.

Just seeing her smile...always makes me happy.. she was 3 months old at this time

Bonding with Dad. My husbands always busy with his work and it is rare that he gets to have time to bond with my baby ( That's the reason why my bea is a certified Mommy's Girl), so whenever they have bonding time i just step back and let the two of them have their quality time together.

Bea's first ever trip to the Philippines she was 6 months old at that time taken at Mcdonalds Baguio.

Her first time with a new nanny, she cried the wholeday that is why she was so tired when I picked her up from work.

Well, this is part of my Treasured Pictures collection... It may not be taken anywhere special but I still treasure these since they show a part of my past and it makes me look back and appreciate how much my life has changed.
