Whatever happened to HAPPILY EVER AFTER......

I got the title of my post today, from one of a blog that i have read a couple of months back..... It made me think... Oh, yes.... whatever happened to that?

As a kid, you would dream of a prince charming swipping you off your feet and you would live happily ever after..... As you grow up you still hold on to that dream, that one day your prince will come..... Then there he was.... dressed in a red shirt, wearing a blue jeans and black working shoes.... all smiles looking at me with eyes that look as if they sparkle...... My heart stopped and from then on I knew this man would be a special part of my life.....

We both knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.... as a young couple, you are full hope, full of dream, full of wishful thinking.... full of bliss that everything would just fall into its place and you would live happily ever after.....

I learned from experience that it takes a lot of work, patience and understanding to be happy with your chosen partner.... I may not always agree with my prince charming (LOL), and I may not always be happy with what he says, does or doesnt do... But i learned from him that no matter how mad, angry or disappointed you are at your partner giving up without trying is a sign of cowardness...

After how many years with my prince charming, I learned that to be happy you have to choose to be happy.... to get what you want you have to work hard to have it..... Marriage or any relationship for that matter requires a lot of work and I mean a lot from each other.....

We would still have our constant differences but what changed now from a few years back we are both mature to give each other space and time to think and at least try to work things out.... It may not be easy but yet, we choose to be happy and we choose to be faithful to our vow that in sickness and in health, for better or for worst we would still be together.....

Happily ever after may not exist but it is you who decide whether to be happy or not....

I choose to be happy.....

  1. So true, love and relationship is not always a bed rose as most people perceive when they start dating, it is a work of progress, a continuous learning that requires an open mind and heart..
